Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the
Mystic Valley Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)! The first step in becoming a volunteer for the Mystic Valley MRC is to register at MA Responds, https://www.maresponds.org/. MA Responds is a centralized volunteer registry with a secure web-based system that integrates local, regional, and statewide volunteer programs (including the Mystic Valley MRC). Although MA Responds is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), only your local unit leaders will contact you for trainings and/or activations, and your information will not be shared with other groups.
As part of the registration process in MA Responds, you will create a username and password, so that you can manage your profile. If you are a medical professional, you will need also need to include your relevant medical license and certification information. Once you have registered in MA Responds, a background check will then be conducted. Once you have completed the CORI form, you will need to bring it to one of the Boards of Health/Health Departments in the Mystic Valley MRC. Contact information for each of the Boards of Health/Health Departments can be found in the 'Contact Us' section of this website. Please make sure to bring photo identification (ex. license) with you when you bring your CORI form to the Board of Health/Health Department. We also recommend calling the Board of Health/Health Department before you go to there in order to make sure that someone in the office will be available to review and verify your CORI form. The Board of Health/Health Department will then submit your CORI form to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) so that the MDPH can process your background check. Here is the CORI form that you will need to fill out:
